			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Flooding in low-lying spots is likely this evening as high astronomical tides are forecasted.  A Coastal Flood Advisory will be in effect from 6 PM to 11 PM.  Time of high tide is 8:41 PM.  The worst of the flooding will come after rush hour but could still make travel difficult in some spots this evening.</p>
<p>The National Weather Service just issued a statement with a detailed list of areas around the Charleston metro that are susceptible to flooding this evening:</p>

    &#8211; WATER UP TO THE DOORS OF A NUMBER OF RESIDENCES.<br />
 &#8211; NORTH MARKET BETWEEN EAST BAY STREET AND CONCORD STREET PARTIALLY<br />
   FLOODS.<br />
 &#8211; PARTS OF THE PILOT BOAT WHARF PARKING LOT FLOODS.<br />
 &#8211; INTERSECTION OF BARRE STREET AND WENTWORTH STREET FLOODS.<br />

    &#8211; ROADS ARE PASSABLE BUT WATER IS VERY DEEP IN THE RIGHT HAND<br />
      LANE HEADING TOWARDS HIGHWAY 17.<br />
 &#8211; WATER FLOWS ACROSS PORTIONS OF EAST BAY STREET AND TRADD STREET<br />
   NEAR THE U.S. COAST GUARD STATION.</p>
<p>WEST ASHLEY<br />
 &#8211; HIGHWAY 17 WHERE HIGHWAY 61 VEERS RIGHT JUST BEYOND THE DRAW<br />
   BRIDGE HEADING OUT OF DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON FLOODS.</p>
<p>MOUNT PLEASANT<br />
 &#8211; PORTIONS OF LONG POINT ROAD NEAR PALMETTO ISLANDS COUNTY PARK<br />
   PARTIALLY FLOODS.</p>
<p>ISLE OF PALMS<br />
 &#8211; MINOR FLOODING OCCURS ON 12TH AND 25TH STREETS.</p>
<p>JAMES ISLAND<br />
 &#8211; WATER APPROACHES PORTIONS OF HARBOR VIEW ROAD.</p>
<p>SEABROOK ISLAND<br />
 &#8211; ROADWAY HEADING TO BOHICKET MARINA FLOODS BUT REMAINS PASSABLE.</p>
<p>NORTH CHARLESTON<br />
 &#8211; PARTS OF CHARLESTON NAVY BASE FLOODS.<br />
    &#8211; WATER APPROACHES BAINBRIDGE AVENUE NEAR THE SECURITY<br />
      CHECKPOINT.<br />
    &#8211; JUNEAU AVENUE BETWEEN PARTRIDGE AVENUE AND THE COOPER RIVER<br />
      IS SEVERELY FLOODED AND IMPASSABLE. COOPER RIVER MARINA IS<br />
      COMPLETELY ISOLATED WHEN THIS OCCURS.<br />
    &#8211; PARTS OF TIDEWATER ROAD FLOODS.<br />
    &#8211; MINOR FLOODING OCCURS ALONG PARTS OF RIVERFRONT PARK.

<p>Thankfully, rain is unlikely to exacerbate the situation (though a popup thunderstorm can never be completely ruled out in the summer months).  There&#8217;s activity west of here but it&#8217;s not currently forecasted to make trouble for us in Charleston.
